CENTRE HOSPITALIER DE BRIEY (F)- BUSINESS CONTINUITY

The analysis laboratory of the Briey Hospital operational 24/24 thanks to the fault tolerant serverNEC EXPRESS5800/320FT.

The goal of Briey Hospital was to obtain the guarantee of an uninterrupted system for the laboratory. The most critical part of the system is the link between the automation analysis systems, the data of results and patients’s files.
Solution : The NEC EXPRESS5800/320FT server offers a continuous availability rate which can reach 99.999% reliability that is less than 5 minutes of non programmed shutdowns per year.
The benefit : an ultra reliable system which does not require an important technical team to be on call.

The Briey Hospital is a public health centre financed by the state.
Situated in the Lorraine department (54), it offers both general and specialised medical services as well as an emergency service which greets over 19,000 patients each year. Consisted of a staff body of over 1,000 people, including 100 doctors, the hospital has 500 beds available for patients in full daytime care in either retirement homes or for long periods of time. This makes up a total of 18,000 hospital cares and 530,000 lab interventions a year. The technical IT team which consist of a service manager, several programmer analysts and two maintenance employees, is responsible for the Hospital global IT infrastructure including 350 desktops, 20 servers one of which is a NEC Fault Tolerant server.

ARGENTEUIL Hospital (F) - Virtualized PCs for doctors

The goal : The hospital of Argenteuil whished to simplify the costly management of its PC fleet, to limit the purchase of physical PC every three years. It was also important to do the maximum in order that the medical personnel has an efficient tool at its disposal and is able to improve the quality of care and patient safety.

The solution : For 250 virtualized PC, the solution NEC FlexNDV was deployed with the all-in-one infrastructure server NEC FlexPower (blades, storage, network) and the Neocoretech Desktop Virtualization solution.
